Our Story

The Lake Pepin Pet Clinic is proud to have been part of the Lake City community for many years. Originally located in downtown Lake City, the current building was built in 1998 in order to accommodate the growing needs of the surrounding area. Dr. Schaal purchased the practice in 2006.

In 2005, Lake Pepin Pet Clinic earned its accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), which is something less than 15% of veterinary practices can claim.

Keeping current with modern medical technology is important to our mission, which is why our clinic recently invested in digital dental x-ray technology. We absolutely love being able to see under your pets’ gum lines and examine the roots of their teeth. Healthy teeth are a critical part of your pet’s well-being and they are sadly all-too-often-overlooked.

One of the best parts of operating the Lake Pepin Pet Clinic is getting to know our clients and patients. Truly, they have become part of our extended family. We take to heart the opportunity to educate pet owners how to best care for their loved ones with the most up-to-date medical care available.

We believe strongly in the value of the human-animal bond. Our priority is to help owners make good decisions about their pets’ care by offering treatment options tailored to each individual pet. Helping families provide the very best care for their pets sustains us not just as a practice but as people.

We appreciate the opportunity to serve you, your pets, and our community.

"The entire staff always goes above and beyond to care for our fur babies."
